Forensic detective: branded ar app
Overview
Oxygen’s arm chair detectives have an opportunity to solve a crime within the comfort of their own room using an iOS augmented reality app called “Forensic Detective: Inside the Crime Scene”.
In the game, users are able to test their forensic investigation skills while trying to solve the murder of a local Nashville musician. Users are able explore the augmented reality crime scene clues which means virtual shell casings and blood samples are littered all around their own room at home. They can then interrogate the different suspects and accuse the one who’s alibi just doesn’t hold up.
Neo-Pangea constructed the storyline and game structure with the main characters. Oxygen filled the experience with augmented reality clues and evidence of a classic branding experience consistent with the shows that the fans love: a crumbling marriage, jilted lovers, multiple love affairs, insurance fraud and a brother with a troubled past. These vulnerable characters mixed with strong emotions like betrayal and desperation helped create the game into both a technological and emotionally satisfying experience.
